Derbyshire Second XI dominated Day Two of their friendly versus Glamorgan at Belper Meadows, thanks to centuries from Tom Wood and Daryn Smit.

Wood (134) and Smit (110*) shared a partnership of 158 as Derbyshire opened up a lead of 77 runs over Glamorgan by the close of play.

Lukas Carey (3-49) took three wickets for the visitors but could not prevent Derbyshire reaching 364-6 at stumps.

Starting the day on 14-0, Derbyshire lost two early wickets to Carey, S Kershaw (4) and Josh Clarke (4) both departing to leave the score at 40-2.

Ryan Bramwell scored 51, and shared a partnership of 83 with Wood before he was also dismissed by Carey, bringing Smit to the crease.

Wood and Smit frustrated the Glamorgan attack during the middle periods of the day, Wood at times showing aggression, as he smashed four sixes in his 134.

He reached his century from 147 balls and continued his stroke play until he was dismissed for 134 from 226 balls by Jacobs (1-50).

Derbyshire then lost two quick wickets before the close, losing Matt Critchley (8) and Greg Cork (0) to Jack Murphy (1-32) and Jeremy Lawlor (1-15) respectively.

Rob Hemmings (27*) then supported Smit who reached his hundred just before the close of play, and finished the day 110 not out from 197 balls.
