Promising fast bowler, Harry Moore, has signed a new three-year deal with Derbyshire, keeping him at The County Ground until the end of the 2027 season.

Derbyshire-born Moore, 17, has already established himself as one of the brightest prospects in the county game, having emerged from the Cricket Derbyshire Academy to become the Club’s youngest-ever debutant in 2023.

In 2024, Moore featured in seven Metro-Bank One-Day Cup fixtures, claiming ten wickets, as well as the final three Vitality County Championship fixtures of the season, where he impressed with his pace and consistency, picking up six dismissals at an average of 23.83.

The youngster has also shown his prowess with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 36 to take his side to an impressive victory over Somerset in the 50-over competition.

He also made his England Under 19s debut this summer, playing in two ODIs and one Test match against Sri Lanka.

Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, said: “I have worked with a lot of promising players in my career, but I can hand on heart say Harry Moore is the best 17-year-old I’ve ever coached. He has such an impressive skillset at such a young age and we are excited to keep working with him for years to come.

“He’s already shown he has the ability to perform in first team cricket, and he will get even more opportunities next summer.

“Our pathway is producing some fantastic young players and they will be an asset to us moving forward.”

Moore added: “I’ve loved my first opportunities in senior cricket and the chance to continue learning from Mickey [Arthur] and the coaching team here is really exciting.

“The level of coaching and support at Derbyshire as I’ve progressed through the age groups has been excellent and I’m looking forward to continuing my development over the next three seasons.
