Derbyshire will face international opposition at The 3aaa County Ground in 2017, with the visit of West Indies for a three-day first-class match starting on Friday 11 August.
The West Indies Test touring side will be the second international tour fixture of the summer, with Derbyshire entertaining South Africa A for a one-day fixture on Bank Holiday Monday, 29 May.
The two tour matches will be held either side of the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup held in Derby, with the competition running from Monday 26 June to Sunday 23 July.
The West Indies last toured England in 2012 and return to these shores under the captaincy of all-rounder Jason Holder, and their squad is likely to include Marlon Samuels, Darren Bravo and Devendra Bishoo.
Full list of domestic fixtures for the 2017 season will be announced later this year.
ECB Chief Executive, Tom Harrison said: “We’re very pleased to have agreed such a comprehensive touring programme for 2017.
“It’s a schedule which will provide fans with even more opportunities to see two international teams in action at county grounds; and help our Lions players test themselves against high quality opposition in both red and white-ball cricket.
“With this country also hosting the ICC Champions Trophy and the ICC Women’s World Cup next season, 2017 promises to be a hugely exciting summer of cricket – and a strong platform to promote our sport to an even wider and more diverse audience.”
