As we gear up for the 2025 Vitality Blast, we take a weekly look at an iconic Friday Night Falcons T20 moment at The County Ground. This week, we look back at Nye Donald’s rapid half-century against Northants Steelbacks.
With rain threatening to end the Falcons innings early, Donald arrived at the crease knowing it was crucial to get ahead of the DLS par score, and he promptly smashed a 19-ball half-century in front of a stunned County Ground crowd, his second such knock in as many games.
That Club record-equalling fastest 50 proved crucial, as the Falcons were halted after 11 overs due to bad weather, a full 24 runs ahead of DLS, claiming a big win.

Mickey Arthur’s Falcons will host Notts Outlaws in the East Midlands Derby on Friday 6 June at The County Ground, as part of a double-header with The Blaze also taking on Essex earlier in the day.
The second Friday Night Falcons fixture of the summer takes place on Friday 20 June, as Lancashire Lightning come to Derby, before we finish our North Group schedule against Birmingham Bears on Friday 18 June, with Derbyshire Falcons Women also facing Northamptonshire as part of a second double-header.
