Tammy Beaumont’s 78 off 79 helped England to victory as they beat Sri Lanka by five wickets in the third one-day international.

The hosts were bowled out for 161 in Colombo as Laura Marsh (2-25), Alex Hartley (2-23) and Danielle Hazell (2-24) took two wickets apiece.

Beaumont led the reply well hitting 78, including seven fours and three sixes, before Fran Wilson (30) saw them over the line with 20 overs still remaining.

With England leading the series 3-0, they hope to see injured pair, Captain Heather Knight and fast bowler Katherine Brunt, back in action as they will be reassessed ahead of the final game on Thursday.

England joined Australia on Saturday qualifying for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017, which takes place in England in June and July next year.

The top four teams in the eight-team ICC Women’s Championship table qualify automatically, with the bottom four joining six other sides in a qualifying tournament, to be held in Sri Lanka early in 2017, to determine the final four World Cup qualifiers.

New Zealand, West Indies, India and South Africa will be the teams battling it out to qualify in the remaining fixtures.
