Imran Tahir claimed six wickets, including best match figures of 3-18, in South Africa’s recent Twenty20 International series versus Sri Lanka.

The series started in Centurion in a 10-overs a side reduced match due to rain. In his two overs, Tahir returned figures of 2-23, including two in an over, as South Africa claimed victory by 19 runs.

The 37-year-old continued his good form in the second T20I, returning economical figures of 1-14 off his four overs, but it wasn’t enough as Sri Lanka successfully chased down their 114 victory target with two balls remaining.

Tahir once again starred with the ball in the decider, claiming his best figures of the series. He took 3-18 of his four overs, including a wicket with his first delivery and two in his final over, but it was Sri Lanka who finished victorious with a five wicket win.

He will next be in action for South Africa in their ODI series against Sri Lanka, starting on Saturday 28 January.
