Scott Elstone hit a century and Wes Durston produced a fine all-round display as the Second XI defeated Lancashire by 146 runs in One-Day Trophy fixture at Glossop Cricket Club.
Lancashire elected to field first but a fine third-wicket partnership of 129 between Elstone (108) and Durston (85) helped Derbyshire amass 297-9 from their 50 overs, with 70 runs scored in the final five overs.
Lancashire, who were led by England international Stephen Parry, never got going in their chase as they were bundled out for 151 inside 40 overs.
Captain Durston showed his expertise with the ball as he took 5-31 to cap off a superb all-round performance from the 34-year-old, with Derbyshire starting their Second XI Trophy campaign with a resounding win.
