Rain wins on Day Three in Derby

Tuesday 8th August 2017
Written by Danny Painter

Rain forces an abandonment on Day Three of Specsavers County Championship match at The 3aaa County Ground between Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

Persistent overnight rain meant there was a damp outfield even before the rain returned in the morning, meaning no play was possible before lunch.

Further inspections took place throughout the afternoon, but despite brief periods of clear skies, the rain returned and play was eventually abandoned shortly after 3pm.

The fourth and final day is scheduled to get underway at 11am on Wednesday, with Derbyshire resuming their second innings on 45-1, trailing Nottinghamshire by 243 runs.
