Derbyshire County Cricket Club acknowledges the decision made by the England & Wales Cricket Board’s Cricket Discipline Commission regarding Glamorgan’s decision to declare on Day Three of the LV= County Championship fixture at Cardiff in May.

The full decision is below.

The Cricket Discipline Commission confirms it has received a complaint from Derbyshire CCC under LV= County Championship Playing Condition 14 regarding the declaration made by Glamorgan Cricket in the LV=County Championship match at SWALEC Stadium between May 3 and 6.

The Deputy Chairman of the CDC, Mike Smith, has considered this complaint and in light of all the circumstances has decided not to take any further action regarding this matter. The CDC wishes to emphasise that it has no criticism of Derbyshire CCC in making the complaint.

It notes counties must have a wide discretion in deciding the best way to approach a game and not be subject to undue interference from the CDC.

However, it also notes that any complaint under Playing Condition 14 will be carefully considered on its individual merits and the particular circumstances of the game and counties are reminded generally as to their obligations in this regard.
