Derbyshire’s Second XI friendly versus Warwickshire, which starts on Monday 9 April, will now be played at Edgbaston.

The fixture, which was originally due to take place at The 3aaa County Ground, has been switched after heavy rain has left areas of the outfield unfit for play and the decision was made in order to give the game the best chance of going ahead.

The three-day fixture, which begins at 11am, will be free for spectators who will be able to use the Tom Dollery Members Lounge. Both counties are set to feature strong sides as they prepare for the new season.

Derbyshire get the 2018 season underway with a three-day non first-class university fixture versus Leeds/Bradford MCCU at Weetwood, scheduled to start on Friday 13 April.

The Club begin their new Specsavers County Championship campaign the following week versus Middlesex at The 3aaa County Ground, commencing on Friday 20 April, 11am start.
