Cricket Derbyshire’s Family Fun Day, a free event where youngsters can meet the Derbyshire players and take part in fun activities, returns this Sunday 1 July; 10am to 1pm.
Over 500 local families attended the event last summer and it’s back for a third successive year in 2018. It sets to be the biggest event yet.
Taking place ahead of the new Vitality Blast campaign, which begins on Friday 6 July, the event will include cricket activities run by Derbyshire Cricket Board, assault course, bouncy castle and cricket simulator challenge.
The 3aaa County Ground will once again host an enjoyable day for the whole family. The day will feature fun cricket activities and a host of free activities including;
New for 2018, there will also be a chance for visitors to take part in our BatFast Cricket Simulator – pit your cricketing wits against a number of virtual bowlers and see if you hit them for six.
Qualified coaches, and first team players, will be on hand to lead a number of cricket activities in the indoor cricket hall. These will include batting, bowling and catching activities, as you get a chance to test your skills – and ask the pros for any tips.
Refreshments will also be available, while Freddie the Falcon will also be around on the day – and he might even take part in a few of the day’s activities too.
All under-16s attending our Family Fun Day will also receive two FREE tickets to a Vitality Blast fixture.
It’s our way of saying thank you for attending and a chance for visitors to experience a night of fast-paced Twenty20 action at The 3aaa County Ground this July.
Simply complete a short form on the day to claim your tickets. T&Cs apply. Two free tickets per household. Tickets will be provided on the day.
It’s always a fun day and we hope many people will be able to join us.
