Derbyshire’s final game in the North Group is against Notts Outlaws, 49 years after their first limited overs encounter at Chesterfield in the inaugural Players County League competition.
Heritage Officer, David Griffin, looks at the statistical background to the game.
This game will be the 61st scheduled game in List A cricket, Derbyshire having won 20, Nottinghamshire 38, with two abandoned.
Derbyshire’s last win at Trent Bridge came in 2004 when a superb all-round performance from the Australian, Jon Moss, who took 4-45 and scored 92, plus an unbeaten 100 from Chris Bassano secured a comprehensive nine-wicket win.
Two other players have scored centuries in List A cricket against Nottinghamshire – also at Trent Bridge – the highest being Chris Adams’ 121 in 1997, while Matt Cassar scored 109 in 1999.
Two bowlers have taken 5 wickets in a match with the best being Mike Hendrick’s remarkable 6-7 in the John Player League in 1972. Hendrick also took 5-30 at Chesterfield in 1975, and Phil Russell took 5-54 at Trent Bridge in 1974.
Derbyshire’s highest team total is 303-4 in the defeat at Derby in 2017, while their highest total to win is 255-4 at Derby in 1990.
