Tom Brett took figures of 6-70 as Derbyshire bowled Yorkshire out for 421 on Day One of the Second XI Championship match at Glossop CC.
After Yorkshire won the toss and elected to bat, it was Derbyshire who struck first as Grant Thornton removed Alex Lees to reduce the visitors to 24-1.
Yorkshire responded well as there was an 88-run stand for the second wicket before James Sykes got the breakthrough. But they started to lose wickets at regular intervals as Brett added two more to his tally to leave the visitors on 276-5 at tea.
Brett continued his fine form throughout to claim the final three wickets of the day as Yorkshire posted a total of 421 at the end of Day One.
