Derbyshire Falcons welcome Notts Outlaws for their Vitality Blast clash tonight and we take a look at one-to-watch, Dan Christian.
After a disappointing start to the twenty-over campaign, Derbyshire Falcons are looking to kick-start their Vitality Blast season with victory in the East Midlands derby against Notts Outlaws.
However, the visitors arrive with momentum after consecutive away wins as they look to defend their T20 Blast title.
A complete all-rounder, Dan Christian leads a talented Notts side for the Vitality Blast clash at The 3aaa County Ground.
The visitors will look to lean on his vast twenty-over experience; Christian has a wealth of IPL experience as well as playing Twenty20 cricket for Middlesex, Gloucestershire and Hampshire during their title-winning campaign in 2010.
Australian international Christian is in a rich vein of form after guiding Notts to back-to-back wins. Christian hit an unbeaten 113 from 40 balls against Northants Steelbacks to record the second fastest century in the history of English domestic cricket.
The Outlaws captain also hit 47 not out and took 2-32 last Sunday against Leicestershire Foxes to guide the visitors to victory.
Christian’s abilities have seen him play in both white-ball formats for his country; he has impressed especially in the shorter form, notching nearly 3500 runs at a strike rate of 136.81.
He also has a good record with the ball, having taken 178 wickets throughout his T20 career with best figures of 5-14 in the Australian BBL for the Hobart Hurricanes.
The 35-year old will have fond memories of The 3aaa County Ground as well, having led the Aboriginal XI to victory with an unbeaten 44 from 23 balls in June.
