Dave Houghton is looking forward to a block of Royal London One-Day Cup cricket and hopes to see good crowds at The Pattonair County Ground over the Easter weekend.
The Head of Cricket has been impressed by Derbyshire’s start to the summer, which sees the club top of Specsavers County Championship Division Two after two matches, ahead of the 50-over competition which starts on Good Friday.
He now wants to see Billy Godleman’s men carry that momentum into the white ball competition in front of what he hopes to be packed crowds across the Easter weekend.
Houghton said: “It was a good win against Durham. We took on a touch challenge by batting first, but we fought really well and played good team cricket.
“It’s a good position to be in, but we’re only two games in and there’s a long way to go.
“We’re well set up as a one-day side. We’ve got a lot of all-rounders, a lot of attacking batsman and variety in our bowling attack.
“The weather’s set fair and especially over an Easter weekend, we should get a really good crowd in.
“They should be high-scoring affairs and a nice weekend of cricket for supporters to watch.”
