Billy Godleman hit a third successive List A century to earn Derbyshire a point in a thrilling run chase against Yorkshire at Emerald Headingley.
The Derbyshire captain takes his average in the competition to 139, while his side have five points from their opening four matches, leaving them fourth in the North Group with a knockout spot still in sight.
Two partnerships over 140 and four batsmen reaching half-centuries formed the backbone of Yorkshire’s innings, which was cut short by rain on 308-2 after 40 overs.
Set 225 to win in 22 overs, Derbyshire’s chase stuttered early on, before two standout knocks from Godleman (107 not out) and Leus du Plooy (75) set up a frantic final over finish to earn a tie.
Steven Patterson won the toss for the hosts and elected to bat first and with rain forecast, they hoped to enjoy the better of the batting conditions and set Derbyshire a challenging total.
Openers Adam Lyth and Tom Kohler-Cadmore set about doing just that, attacking Sam Conners and Rampaul after Wayne Madsen had been economical in his early overs.
They put on 157 runs for the first wicket, a stand which was only broken in the 24th over as Conners caught Lyth in the deep for 78.
Both set batsmen were gone three overs later as Matt Critchley had Kohler-Cadmore caught by Madsen for 79, and with Yorkshire 167-2 Derbyshire had found a way back into the game.
But hopes of restricting the hosts soon faded as Harry Brook (59*) and David Willey (72*) set about building the game’s second century stand.
They both reached half-centuries and took their side past 300 before the rain got heavier and forced the players off the field with the score 308-2 from 40 overs.
Play was delayed by just over three hours and once the skies did brighten and Derbyshire were able to begin their innings, the DLS calculations had set 225 to win from the available 22 overs.
The Falcons lost Luis Reece (1) and Madsen (1) in the first two overs, bring du Plooy to the crease to join Godleman.
The pair combined fluently, with a mix of innovation from du Plooy and power hitting down the ground from the captain to keep Derbyshire up with the rate.
Their stand was ultimately worth 135 in little over 12 overs, as du Plooy was caught and Godleman marched on.
With memories of a famous late flurry against the Vikings at Queen’s Park in 2018, Matt Critchley joined Godleman and quickly picked up where du Plooy had left off.
His 33 not out off 23 balls included a big six down the ground as the pair set up 17 to win from the final Willey over.
A wide followed by a four and a six from Godleman left two needed from the final ball – a straight delivery which Godleman played and missed and the batsmen scampered through for a single.
Derbyshire’s point leaves them fourth in the Royal London One-Day Cup North Group ahead of the visit to third-placed Durham on Sunday.
