Lead Physiotherapist Fran Clarkson gives an update on current injuries within the squad.

Alfie Gleadall

The fast bowler suffered a side strain during the win over Leicestershire in the Royal London One-Day Cup – an injury which was aggravated over the following few days.

He is likely to be out for approximately one month as the club’s medical staff continue to asses the young bowler before he begins a tailored rehabilitation programme.

Leus du Plooy

The in-form batsman sustained a dislocated left index finger attempting a return catch against Durham on Sunday.

Following specialist assessment, the 24-year-old is likely to be out for a minimum of four weeks as the finger heals and regains full function.

Mattie McKiernan

All-rounder Mattie McKiernan suffered a lower-back stress fracture during the club’s pre-season training and is now progressing well during his rehabilitation.

He continues to work closely with the club’s medical team and Derbyshire remains hopeful that the 24-year-old will be able to feature later in the season.

James Taylor

Young bowler James Taylor was ruled out of the Second XI One-Day Trophy match against Nottinghamshire with a minor ankle problem. He is awaiting further investigation to assess the extend of the damage.
