Derbyshire were beaten on Day Three of their Second XI Championship game against Warwickshire at Barnt Green.
The hosts declared on 260-5, setting Derbyshire a total of 326 to win the match, with the visitors dismissed for 99 on the third afternoon of the match.
Daryn Smit took 2-9 in the single over that he bowled in Warwickshire’s second innings, before scored 27 as Derbyshire fell to a 227-run defeat.
Warwickshire resumed on 109-1 at the start of Day Three, with their second-wicket pairing of Ed Pollock and Dan Mousley combining for 107 runs before the former was dismissed by Hamidullah Qadri for 121.
Mousley fell for 40 soon after when he was trapped lbw by Mark Watt, while Smit took just five deliveries to claim the other two Warwickshire wickets on Day Three.
Having been set more than 300 to win the match with little over two sessions remaining, Derbyshire found themselves five wickets down for just 23 runs, with Jack Redman (8), Savin Perera (0), Tom Wood (3), Morgan (4) and Nils Priestley (0) all making single-figure scores.
The biggest partnership of the innings came between Smit and Connor Marshall (30), as the pair put on 58 runs for the sixth wicket before Smit was caught by Michael Burgess off Lamb.
Brookes (6-18) ended the match by dismissing James Taylor for six, having already claimed the wickets of Redman, Perera, Wood, Priestley and Hamidullah Qadri.
