Day One of the Second XI Championship fixture between Worcestershire and Derbyshire at Worcester Royal Grammar School was reduced due to intermittent rain showers.

There was still time for Cricket Derbyshire Academy, in partnership with the University of Derby leg-spinner Matt Critchley to pick up two experienced Worcestershire wickets. He first had Tom Kohler-Cadmore caught by Tom Knight for 74 and later had Alex Gidman caught behind by Tom Poynton on 50.

The only other wicket to fall in the day was to Wayne White when George Rhodes was caught by Jonathan Clare on 19 to give Derbyshire their first wicket of the day.

Despite the three wickets, Worcestershire will be the happier of the two sides having ended the day on 218-3 having faced 58.1 overs with Alexei Kervezee unbeaten on 48 going into Day Two.
