Tom Knight and Tom Poynton both scored centuries as Derbyshire Second XI enjoyed a good second day in the friendly against Northamptonshire.
In reply to Northamptonshire’s total of 448-6 declared the previous day, Derbyshire profited with the bat to declared on 364-4, with Knight and Poynton, making his return from an injury that ruled him out of 2014, reaching three figures.
Knight top-scored with an unbeaten 156 from 183 balls, including 16 fours and five sixes, and wicketkeeper Poynton hit 103 from his 107 deliveries.
There was also a useful contribution from Scott Elstone who made a classy 63 in an encouraging batting display for the visitors at Northampton.
Northamptonshire closed the day on 146-2 in their second innings with wickets for Cricket Derbyshire Academy, in partnership with the University of Derby graduates Greg Cork and Harry White.
Northamptonshire led by 230 runs heading into Day Three.
