Derbyshire avenged defeat in the first game by winning the second T20 fixture in two very even contests at the Nottinghamshire Sports Ground.
Nottinghamshire were victorious in the opening 2nd XI Twenty20 fixture of the 2015 season, registering a four-wicket win.
Derbyshire recorded 116-6 from their 20 overs, with the returning Tom Poynton top scoring with 36 from 33 balls, hitting four fours and one six.
Greg Cork showed glimpses of his batting qualities as he made unbeaten 32 from 27 deliveries, while Adam Tillcock was the hosts’ star performer with the ball, taking 3-13 from his four overs.
Nottinghamshire knocked off the runs with eight balls to spare, Greg Smith top scoring with an unbeaten 37 from 35 balls.
Cork was also in form with the ball as he took 3-33, while David Wainwright, Chesney Hughes and Adam Wheatcroft also claimed a wicket each.
The second T20 match of the afternoon saw Derbyshire run out winners as they successfully chased down a competitive 148 with an over to spare.
Wheatcroft took 2-31 to help restrict Nottinghamshire 148-5, with Scott Elstone and two runs providing the other wickets.
Ramanpreet Singh and Tom Knight put on an opening partnership of 92 for Derbyshire before Cork and Elstone saw the visitors home with two brilliant cameos late on in the innings.
Elstone hit four boundaries in his unbeaten 26 while Cork rounded off a fantastic day for him personally, hitting 21 from just 8 balls.
