Wes Durston hit consecutive half-centuries as Derbyshire warmed up for tonight’s NatWest T20 Blast fixture against Leicestershire with two victories over the Unicorns.
Derbyshire fielded a strong second XI at The 3aaa County Ground, ahead of their trip to Grace Road, and they recorded a seven-wicket win followed by an eight-wicket win.
The visitors batted first in the opening T20 and wickets at regular intervals meant that they reached 114-6 from their 20 overs, with Greg Cork the pick of the Derbyshire bowlers, taking 2-7 from three overs.
Derbyshire knocked off the runs for the loss of three wickets with two overs to spare, as Durston finished unbeaten on 53.

Unicorns once again batted first in the second game, and they showed more intent to finish on 136-3, with Durston taking 2-7.
Former Derbyshire batsman Garry Park made an unbeaten 30 for Unicorns in an unbroken partnership of 77 with Tom Burton.
Chesney Hughes and Shiv Thakor fell in early on in Derbyshire’s chase but Durston (60*) recorded his second half-century of the day as he and Scott Elstone (60*) closed out the innings in successive matches.
