Want to attract new members to your local cricket club? Clubs across Derbyshire will be hosting a Women’s Open Day on Sunday 23 August to get more girls and women into cricket.

The Open Day, which will be held in partnership with Derbyshire County Cricket Club and Derbyshre Cricket Board, will be an opportunity for girls and women of all ages and abilities to take part in a fun-packed day with the chance to play at a local cricket club.

Clubs will have the opportunity to attract new members and to raise the profile of Women’s Cricket as part of a fantastic social event at your club.

The day, which will be FREE to attend, will include an introduction to the sport, games of cricket rounders and refreshments will be available.

Any local cricket club that elects to host an Open Day will automatically be entered into a prize draw with prizes including a club Guard of Honour at a Derbyshire fixture, coaching equipment, coaching clinics and a gas barbeque.

Under-16s who choose to come along and join their local club will receive FREE Junior Membership at Derbyshire Cricket Club in 2016, while over-16s will receive two FREE tickets to a Derbyshire fixture in 2016.

Clubs wishing to sign up and host a Women’s Open Day on Sunday 23 August can contact [email protected] for more information.

A full list of local clubs hosting Women’s Open Days will be announced in due course.
