Durston tops One-Day Cup MVP Rankings

Derbyshire skipper Wes Durston has risen to the top of the PCA Most Valuable Players rankings after the group stages of the Royal London One-Day Cup.

The all-rounder has contributed with both bat and ball throughout the tournament and also gains a point for each of the three games that the team have won under his captaincy.

Durston scored a stunning century at Surrey on his way to accumulating 380 run in the eight fixtures that Derbyshire have played at an average on 47.50 and an impressive strike rate of 103.54.

Having also chipped in with four wickets this campaign in addition to seven catches, Durston currently sits on top of the rankings with 124 points, averaging 15.54 points per fixture.

A further two Derbyshire players feature in the top 20 with Shiv Thakor sitting in 11th place and Wayne Madsen occupying 19th place.

Thakor has taken the joint-most wickets for Derbyshire in the competition whilst Madsen is second only to Durston in the Club’s run-scoring charts.

Derbyshire have three LV= County Championship home fixture remaining this campaign, starting with the visit of Kent on Friday 21 August. Supporters can save £4 on their admission by buying in advance of the day of the game.
