The Club can confirm that paceman Mark Footitt has been offered an extension to his current contract which expires at the end of the 2016 season.
Elite Performance Director, Graeme Welch said: “We are obviously disappointed that Mark and his agent have rejected our enhanced offer.
“I firmly believe with the progress and improvement being made by a number of players – including Mark – that Derbyshire is the best place for him to develop his cricket and achieve his England ambitions.
“He is still under contract for next season and we will be doing everything possible to keep him here for the foreseeable future.”
Derbyshire return to action on Friday 21 August for the start of the LV= County Championship fixture versus Kent at The 3aaa County Ground. Tickets are available to purchase on the gate.
