Welch names squad for final fixture

Graeme Welch has named a 13-man squad for the final LV= County Championship fixture of 2015 versus Leicestershire at The 3aaa County Ground; starting on Tuesday at 10.30am. 

Greg Cork is in contention to make his first-class debut after being named in the county’s four-day squad for the first time, while Shiv Thakor and Tony Palladino are both unavailable after sustaining injuries against Essex last time out.

The squad is otherwise unchanged with Tom Knight, Tom Taylor and Tom Milnes all included once again. Alex Hughes, however, is again ruled out due to injury.

Opposition

Led by Captain Mark Cosgrove, Leicestershire have shown signs of improvement this summer claiming two LV= County Championship victories this season. 

Australia bowler Clint McKay has been the leader of their attack and has taken 58 wickets at an average of 24.81 this season. He is, however, unavailable for this week’s fixture after being called back to a pre-season training camp by Cricket Victoria.

Fellow pace bowlers Charlie Shreck (57 wickets) and Ben Raine (55 wickets) have also taken over 50 wickets and both are expected to feature this week.
