Derbyshire County Cricket Club has signed fast bowler Andy Carter from Nottinghamshire on a two-year deal.
Carter – whose signing follows the capture of international batsmen Hamish Rutherford and Neil Broom and all-rounder Tom Milnes for 2016 – will join the county at the end of the season and has committed himself to the Club until the end of the 2017 campaign.
The 27-year-old has appeared in 29 career first-class fixtures since making his debut for Nottinghamshire in 2009, claiming 91 wickets at an average of 27.
He has spent time on loan at Essex and more recently Glamorgan this summer, claiming 16 wickets at an average of 23 in four LV= County Championship fixtures for the Welsh county.
The former England Lions paceman has also featured in 23 Twenty20 fixtures and 20 List A matches during his career, claiming over 53 wickets across the two formats.

Elite Performance Director, Graeme Welch said: “Andy is a fierce competitor on the field who has played at the highest level and will be a leader in our side both on and off the field.
“He has shown this summer during his spell at Glamorgan that he can be an effective bowler when he gets a chance to play regular cricket.
“With the backroom team we have, we are confident that Andy can continue to improve and be a consistent performer for us for years to come.”
Carter added: “I’m at the point in my career where I feel like I need to be playing regularly. I’ve got loads to give and hopefully I can get a good run of games and help the Club get results on the field.
“I’ve known Graeme for a while now and I look forward to working with him again. There is a lot of talented players at the Club and I hope I can play my part in bringing success to the county.”
