Ben McDermott has been called up to the Australia Twenty20 side for their series against New Zealand, which begins next month, after being named in the Big Bash Team of the Tournament.
The wicketkeeper-batsman was one of the standout players in the Big Bash campaign, scoring 402 runs at an average of 36.54, three half-centuries and hitting 21 sixes. Despite his form with the bat, Hobart Hurricanes were unable to reach the knockout stages of the competition.
McDermott, who will join Derbyshire this summer for the Vitality Blast and Royal London Cup, has been included in the Australia side for their five-match T20 series against New Zealand, which will commence on Monday 22 February.
Having scored a century for Australia A against India in a three-day first-class fixture in December 2020, the 26-year-old will now aim to add to his 12 international T20 caps, ahead of making his bow for the Falcons later this year.
The Australia international will join Derbyshire Falcons for the 2021 Vitality Blast, and you can see his biggest moments with a Blast Pass, priced at just £89.
