Derbyshire all-rounder Matt Critchley has been selected by Welsh Fire for the inaugural season of The Hundred.
The 24-year-old, who was named Derbyshire’s Player of the Year for the 2020 campaign, was drafted as the men’s teams were finalised ahead of the competition’s first season.
He becomes the third Derbyshire player to be selected for The Hundred, with Wayne Madsen (Manchester Originals) and Luis Reece (London Spirit) also picked.
Critchley enjoyed a stellar 2019 Vitality Blast campaign, taking 17 wickets as the Falcons reached Finals Day for the first time, while he was also Derbyshire’s leading wicket-taker (17) in the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy, also scoring one half-century in the competition.
Madsen’s Manchester Originals will kick off the men’s competition against Oval Invincible on 22 July.
