Derbyshire have named a 15-man squad for their Vitality Blast opener against Lancashire Lightning at Emirates Old Trafford.
Having tasted victory on their last Vitality Blast visit to Manchester, the Falcons will be looking to get their 2021 campaign off to a strong start, with the same top-order of Billy Godleman, Luis Reece, Leus du Plooy and Wayne Madsen aiming to replicate their form of 2019.
Matt Critchley claimed 17 wickets in the competition two years ago, and he is joined by fellow spinners Mattie McKiernan and Alex Thomson, while the club’s all-time leading wicket-taker Alex Hughes is named in the squad.
Developing quick Mikey Cohen will be looking to put the experienced gained in 2020 to good use, while George Scrimshaw could get his first taste of white ball cricket for the Falcons.
Fynn Hudson-Prentice, Reece and overseas paceman Logan van Beek were all part of the attack which reached Finals Day, sharing 30 wickets between them. New signing Harry Came is named in the squad which travels to Manchester.
