1870 Business Club partners, Purpose Media, have helped to increase Derbyshire County Cricket Club’s digital presence with two fully-optimised websites.
The Club aimed to create a split between cricket content and the Derbyshire Experience, and with the help of e-commerce specialists Purpose Media this has been achieved.
As a result, the Club recorded record levels of traffic for the last six months of 2015 and have been able to attract more commercial business through the new interactive websites.
New features on the cricket website, such as Matchday Centre LIVE, have proved a major success in providing supporters with live updates and scoring information, creating a bespoke service offering the fastest and easiest place for supporters to follow all the action.
Visitors to both websites have significantly increased since launch compared to the previous year. The two month period between June and July saw a 42% increase in website visitors, with a yearly rise for each month compared to 12 months previous. This resulted in a record number of visitors for the site for the same time period.
And with the new site being fully mobile optimised, Members, supporters, commercial partners and event guests can now access the site easily on the move and on any device.
Derbyshire Commercial Director, Ryan Duckett said: “The team at Purpose Media have been very thorough in their consultative approach to ensure we got what we wanted from our website.
“A specific staff member was allocated to us who helped us through the process of creating and launching the website. An ongoing monthly meeting now helps us to see how our website can deliver more and more commercial return and spot trends.
“Access to regular advice on how to increase visitors, ticket sales, venue bookings and social media presence is definitely delivering a return on investment.”
