Derbyshire all-rounder, Anuj Dal, has signed a new two-year contract, keeping him at The Incora County Ground until the end of the 2024 season.
Dal, 25, has been a mainstay in the Derbyshire side in 2022, batting at number seven and forming into a key component of the seam attack.
His first innings of the season against Middlesex at Lord’s garnered a half-century, while he’s gone on to score 139 runs at an average of 46.33, as well as claiming ten wickets so far this season.
Dal’s maiden first-class century came in September 2021, when he was part of a Club-record sixth-wicket stand of 227 with Brooke Guest. He’s scored a total of 1,244 runs across all formats to Derbyshire since making his debut in 2019.
Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, said: “I’ve already said that I consider Anuj to be one of the best fielders in all of county cricket, but his batting and bowling are equally important for us and I’m so pleased he will be staying with us.
“His attitude and personality is exactly what we want in our dressing room, Anuj is hungry for success and brings real positivity into every performance.”
Dal added: “I’ve had a real journey over the last year, but the clarity of the defined role I have under Mickey has given me the tools to really develop my game.
“The environment we have in the dressing room made it a really easy decision to commit my future to the Club. My aim is always to keep improving, the whole squad is motivated to bring success to Derbyshire and we all want to be a part of that.”
