Billy Godleman led the way with an electric 111, as Derbyshire put in a good team performance to defeat Shropshire by 236 runs at Shifnal.
Godleman reached his half-century in just 17 balls, and his strike-rate was still above 200 when he reached three figures, as he and Luis Reece (76) put on 183 for the opening wicket, before Tom Wood (75 not out, 2-1) and Anuj Dal’s (37 not out) 93-run stand saw the visitors to 325-4 from just 36 overs.
With the ball, Sam Conners (3-13) was the pick of the bowlers, while Wood, Nick Potts, Ben Aitchison and Mattie McKiernan shared another six wickets. George Hargrave top-scored for the hosts with an impressive 69 not out.
Morning rain delayed the start of the match until 1pm, with the fixture reduced to 36 overs-per-side, with Shropshire electing to field after winning the toss,
