Brooke Guest (89 not out, South Perth) and Luis Reece (84 not out, Gosnells) each top-scored, as the Derbyshire players guided their sides to victory down under.
Guest faced just 69 balls for his knock, striking 15 fours as South Perth defeated Wanneroo in the Western Australia Cricket Association First Grade, while Reece hit eight fours and two sixes as Gosnells beat University.
Suranga Lakmal’s Colombo Stars will face Galle Gladiators in the Lanka Premier League eliminator tomorrow, with the fast bowler aiming to extend his run of lifting the LPL trophy in every season of the competition’s history so far.
Should the Stars overcome Galle, they’s face either Kandy Falcons or Jaffna Kings for a place in Friday’s final. However, despite winning two of their final three group games, Mickey Arthur’s Dambulla Aura narrowly missed out on a place in the knockout rounds.
Mitch Wagstaff helped Corowa to victory over North Albury, conceding just four runs in as many overs, while Archie Harrison’s 1-21 couldn’t prevent Northern Districts from defeat to Balgownie.
Harry Came scored 28 as Claremont were beaten by Durbanville, with Leus du Plooy making scores of 26 and 10, as Boland Rocks picked up back-to-back wins in the CSA One-Day Challenge Division One.
