Wayne Madsen has been named as the Club’s Showcase Cinema de Lux Player of the Month for April.
Each month this season, supporters will be able to vote for their player of the month, sponsored by Showcase Cinema de Lux – the Club’s Official Family Partners.
Following a vote on the Club’s official Twitter account and after receiving 57% of the vote, Madsen has been announced as April’s Player of the Month.
The top-order batsmen enjoyed a standout first month of the new Specsavers County Championship campaign, scoring 274 runs in two fixtures at an average of 137.
He hit a top score of 150 in the season opener versus Gloucestershire, before backing this up with 97 against Glamorgan at Derby the following week.
Chesney Hughes, who hit 252 runs an average of 126 in April, was second with 37% vote, while Tony Palladino was third with 6% of the vote.
