The Club enjoyed a bumper first day crowd on Sunday as almost 1,000 supporters visited the newly-redeveloped 3aaa County Ground for the start of the new season.
A million pound was invested during the off-season to improve facilities around the ground, including new and exclusive Members facilities in The 3aaa Pavilion.
The Club has also recruited a new in-house catering team, offering Members and supporters more catering options than ever before on matchdays.
Chief Executive, Simon Storey said: “The Club would like to thank everyone who attended today’s fixture for their support and we hope you enjoyed your visit to the new-look 3aaa County Ground.
“With the optimism of the new season ahead and the recent investment, we anticipated a bigger crowd that usual and the crowd were certainly treated to a fascinating days cricket.
“Inevitably when you introduce so many changes as we have this winter there are always going to be challenges to overcome. We experienced longer queues than expected in the 3aaa Pavilion and Tea Room which is clearly not acceptable and something we will look to improve over the coming days and weeks.
“We have also had requests to improve the sound quality of the public address announcements around the ground which is something we will investigate.
“We also understand the disappointment in the removal of the plastic chairs but Member safety is of paramount important to us. Concerns over the chairs meant we have had to remove them. There are over 4,000 permanent seats around the ground offering a number of different areas for supporters to enjoy their cricket and every single seat has been inspected and washed over the winter so we know they are in good shape.
“Overall feedback was positive and the new Members Lounge and Baytree Cars Executive Lounge were both busier than usual and buzzing with conversation. Many also commented on the quality of food on offer, and the locally-produced steak and ale pie went down particularly well with Members.
“We’d like to thank Members and spectators for their patience today. We will continue to listen to feedback and will work tirelessly to ensure the best possible matchday experience for everyone who visits The 3aaa County Ground.
“The whole team are working hard to create a professional, modern sports venue that we can all be proud of and we encourage Members and supporters to feedback their comments to us.”
