Re. Your Derbyshire County Cricket Club Membership
On behalf of all the players, support staff, the off-field team and the Supervisory Board at Derbyshire County Cricket Club I hope that you and your family are continuing to keep safe and well during these unprecedented and challenging times.
2020 Season
I am delighted that it has now been confirmed that the domestic cricket season will start on 1 August. We will be competing in both four-day and one-day cricket this summer and our first team squad have been training intensely over the last few weeks in preparation for the opening match of the 2020 season.
As a keen young cricket supporter yourself, I also hope you have been able to return to practising and playing club cricket for your local teams.
Currently, Derbyshire are set to begin playing behind closed doors next month and there is no indication that crowds will be able to safely watch professional cricket this summer.
On that basis, and to ensure we support the whole game by helping to facilitate England’s pivotal international calendar, we will be hosting a behind closed doors England Women’s summer series at The Incora County Ground in September. Unfortunately, that does mean that if spectators were allowed into grounds later this summer, then Members would not be able to watch matches in Derby. Should a limited number of spectators be able to attend matches late in the season, then it is our intention that those who remain Members of the club would have access to Derbyshire fixtures at other venues.
2020 Membership Options
Your loyal support and overwhelmingly positive response to my recent feedback request has helped us to reach a decision regarding your 2020 Membership.
The Supervisory Board is acutely aware that this is a challenging time for all and I would personally like to thank you for your willingness to continue supporting the club financially this summer.
Each year our cricket budget is heavily influenced by our Membership numbers and next year will see an even greater reliance on your support. We have taken this into account, as well as all of your comments and suggestions.
Based on your feedback, and with greater clarity now on the 2020 season, I can now outline the available options for your 2020 Membership.
Option 1: Donate and become an Exclusive 150 Club Junior Member: My Membership is my contribution
This is your opportunity to join Derbyshire’s exclusive 150 Club. Although it is not the 150th anniversary celebrations we had all hoped to enjoy, this year Derbyshire would benefit from your support more than ever.
- I wish for Derbyshire to retain my 2020 Membership fee as my contribution to the club’s long-term future
- I remain a 2020 Member and retain all current benefits, including a Junior Cap and entry to fixtures at selected other venues where applicable (full terms & conditions to follow)
- I will pay £20 for my 2021 Junior Membership before 31 January 2021 or 2021 prices thereafter
- I will have my name printed on a plaque at The Incora County Ground, dedicating my support
- I will receive £20 of Club Shop vouchers, to put towards merchandise or books, including the club’s 150th Anniversary book
- I will receive a personalised signed letter from a Derbyshire player
- If I no longer qualify for Junior Membership in 2021 (must be aged 15 or under on 1 April 2021) then I will receive a £20 discount on Age 16-21/Student Membership (full price £55).
Option 2: Deferral: Defer Membership to 2021, losing 2020 rights
- I wish to defer my 2020 Membership to 2021 at no extra cost
- I wish to surrender my 2020 Membership rights and benefits
- I will automatically become a 2021 Member on 1 October 2020, valid for the full Membership term
- If I no longer qualify for Junior Membership in 2021 (must be aged 15 or under on 1 April 2021) then I will receive a £20 discount on Age 16-21/Student Membership (full price £55).
Confirming Your Choice Before 14 August & Processing 2021 Membership
