Derbyshire have justifiably high hopes for the future of their pace attack following the performances and advancements of Ben Aitchison over the course of recent seasons.
A tall right arm bowler with a strong repeatable action. Aitchison has excellent control for such a young bowler and after taking six wickets in 2020 he managed thirty-four at an average of only 23.29 in 2021 with a best of 6-28 against Durham at Derby, the best innings analysis ever against Durham by a Derbyshire bowler.
He added a further 20 first class wickets in 2022 despite suffering an early season injury and to date has taken 60 first class wickets at an impressive average of 26.70.
His quickfire half century against Nottinghamshire at Derby in May 2021 hinted at his batting potential.
