Derbyshire signed fast bowler, Pat Brown, on a three-year deal from the end of the 2023 season.

Brown, 24, has established himself as one of the country’s top white ball bowlers, claiming more than 100 wickets and playing four IT20s for England. He was one of Worcestershire’s standout performers as they won the 2018 Vitality Blast, in which he claimed 31 wickets.

He was among the leading wicket-takers in this year’s Vitality Blast, with 24 dismissals as the Rapids reached the quarter finals.

Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, said: “Pat is one of the most exciting and skilled bowlers on the county circuit and it’s a huge boost to be able to bring him in.

“He has international experience, that’s where a lot of our bowlers want to get to, so Pat will fit right into our ambitious setup.”

Brown added: “I’m really excited to be joining Derbyshire and working in a new environment under a proven international coach, Mickey Arthur, who I know will get the best out of me as a player. Becoming a part of the project which is building at Derbyshire and looking to compete for trophies over the next three years appealed to me greatly.”
