This is Derbyshire
Derbyshire County Cricket Club represents more than just a cricket team. It represents a county, the people of Derbyshire and the indomitable underdog spirit that has seen the Falcons defy the odds time and time again.
With new Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur at the helm, the Falcons will be aiming to push for a place in the knockout stages, and have the international quality of batter Shan Masood and Sri Lanka great Suranga Lakmal, who won the Pakistan Super League and the Lanka Premier League respectively in 2021.
Whether it’s the big-hitting of Wayne Madsen and Leus du Plooy, the leadership of Billy Godleman or the excitement of Sam Conners and Michael Cohen, this is not simply Vitality Blast cricket. This is Derbyshire.
See this summer’s most explosive action with Blast Pass – just £89
With full crowds permitted for the first FULL Vitality Blast campaign since 2019, Derbyshire Falcons will be looking to feed off your support as they aim for a place in the knockout stages.
Derbyshire’s Vitality Blast Player of the Year, Leus du Plooy and the Club’s all-time leading T20 run-scorer, Wayne Madsen, will again provide the fireworks, with a combination of big hitting, innovative shots and precise strokeplay matched by few in the county game, while a young and hungry attack, including Sam Conners, Ben Aitchison and George Scrimshaw, is well-equipped to cause any batter trouble!
Pakistan international opener, Shan Masood, and Sri Lanka fast bowler, Suranga Lakmal, bring international quality, experience and a history of winning trophies in T20 cricket to an exciting Derbyshire Falcons lineup.
After last season’s dramatic tie, there will be big scores to settle when the East Midlands Derby returns to under The Incora County Ground lights on Friday 3 June, while the Falcons will be aiming to extend their Vitality Blast winning streak at Queen’s Park to four matches, when they take on Yorkshire Vikings to close out the BRM Solicitors Festival of Cricket, in association with Chesterfield Borough Council, on Saturday 18 June.
We’re looking forward to welcoming supporters back to The Incora County Ground next summer and our Blast Pass will put you at the heart of the action.
