Re. Your Derbyshire County Cricket Club Membership

On behalf of all the players, support staff, the off-field team and the Supervisory Board at Derbyshire County Cricket Club, I hope that you and your family are safe and well.

At the time of writing, I am delighted to say that Derbyshire, under the leadership of Dave Houghton and with standout performances across the team, are currently top of the Bob Willis Trophy North Group.

We are now into a condensed period of Vitality Blast cricket with such positivity around the squad, and I am sure like me, you are looking forward to seeing how the team can continue to develop after a thrilling 2019.

Joining Derbyshire’s 150 Club

These are unprecedented times and the club is facing substantial losses in income this year and uncertainty over future revenue. While we continue to do all we can to mitigate the impact in the short-term, the full financial effect on the club and the game from the Covid-19 pandemic will not be felt until the months to come.

Following consultation with Members, last month we were able to share with you the available Membership 2020 options. The overwhelming support across our Membership, which you have unreservedly shown by joining Derbyshire’s 150 Club, is a testament to the understanding, dedication and loyalty of our Members. For that I would like to extend my personal gratitude, and that of the Supervisory Board and on behalf of the off-field team and cricket staff.

Your generous support will further help us to reduce the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the club and to keep investing in our cricket budget.

As a 150 Club Member who has extended their support in 2020, your name will be included on plaque at The Incora County Ground, commemorating this unique season and highlighting the committed support of the 150 Club Members. This will be in place ahead of next season, when we of course hope that government guidance allows us to welcome you back to first-class cricket in Derby.

You will also be rewarded with £20 in Club Shop & Bookshop vouchers and these will be included in your 2021 Membership packs when these are sent out to you in the New Year.

You can secure your 150 Club Membership online at dccctickets.com, by calling us on 01332 388 101, or emailing [email protected] for more information.

Following my original letter to Members in July announcing the available options for 2020 Membership, you have been automatically included in the 150 Club after the 14th August deadline. We want all of our Members to have the best possible experience with us and if you did not receive this original communication, or your circumstances have changed, please contact us on 01332 388 101, or email [email protected] for further information.

150th Anniversary

As I’m sure you are aware, the club had planned a number of 150th Anniversary events in 2020, including a commemorative match, a celebration dinner and the commissioning of a celebratory book.

While the dinner and fixture are on hold, and we will revisit these plans once restrictions ease to assess to feasibility of holding them at a later date, I am pleased to announce that the 150th Anniversary book, A Celebration of Derbyshire County Cricket Club, has gone to print with an expected publication date during the last week in October.

Over 100 Members registered for the Subscriber’s Edition, and while this option is now closed, you can pre-order a copy of the hardback book, priced at £25, by contacting our Membership & Ticket Office on 01332 388 101, or email at [email protected].

Members’ Forums & Match Centres

The club has now run five exclusive online Members Forums in 2020 and it’s been brilliant to see turnouts of over 100 Members to discuss updates on all cricket and off-field matters with the Supervisory Board, but also the players and coaches.

We will continue these throughout the year and all invites will be communicated to you via email. For further details of how to join please email [email protected] or call 01332 388 101.

While we are all unable to attend Derbyshire matches at this time, Members can watch the team throughout the Vitality Blast on our new upgraded match centres, which feature live streams (where applicable), as well as highlights, stats and an interactive scorecard. Find out more and follow the matches live at derbyshireccc.com.

Thank you as always for your continued support, stay safe and I look forward to welcoming you back to The Incora County Ground.

Kind regards,

Ian Morgan
