Thakor, Hosein and Alex Hughes all return to four-day team

Sunday 5th July 2015
Written by Danny Painter

All-rounders Alex Hughes and Shiv Thakor return to the Derbyshire squad for the LV= County Championship fixture versus Glamorgan on Monday 6 July; 11am start.

The fixture is the second of the Autoworld Volvo XC90 Chesterfield Festival of Cricket, in association with Chesterfield Borough Council 2015 after Derbyshire were narrowly defeated by Northamptonshire in the NatWest T20 Blast on Sunday 5 July.

The returning Hughes and Thakor have been in fine form for the Derbyshire Second XI with the former scoring an unbeaten double-century and the latter a century in the recent draw with Durham.

Another change in the Derbyshire four-day squad sees 18-year-old wicketkeeper Harvey Hosein come back in to replace Tom Poynton.

Glamorgan, meanwhile, are in search of a fifth successive red-ball win for the first time in their history after the influential signing of skipper Jacques Rudolph during the off-season.

The Welsh outfit will be without Chris Cooke due to family reasons but have named the following 13-man squad for the match.
