Derbyshire announce Pattonair as new Principal Partner
Pattonair, the world-leading aerospace and defence industry supply chain provider, has agreed an investment into the Club to support Derbyshire’s playing ambitions and investment in facilities.
As part of the four-year deal, Pattonair becomes the Club’s Principal Partner and has naming rights over the Pattonair County Ground.
Ryan Duckett, Chief Executive at Derbyshire County Cricket Club, said: “We have worked closely with Pattonair in recent years and it is fantastic that we have been able to extend our partnership further.
“Their backing will allow us to continue investing on the field as we aim to compete across all forms, while we further develop the Pattonair County Ground as a year-round venue at the heart of Derby and the wider region.
“We are delighted to not only have a global business as our ground naming rights and Principal Partner, but one which has its roots in Derby.”
Houghton discusses bowling options
Head of Cricket, David Houghton, is looking forward to giving talented young bowlers an opportunity before the 2019 season starts in April.
Houghton has been impressed with the Academy graduates on the Derbyshire staff, including Sam Conners, James Taylor and Alfie Gleadall, and he is ready to integrate them into the first team to continue their development.
He said: “We’ve got good youngsters coming through and we’ve been very impressed with what we’ve seen – particularly from James Taylor, Sam Conners and Alfie Gleadall as he returns to bowling after injury.
“These three guys have got more than enough skills. The interesting thing about coaching and running sides is they don’t leave your coaching setup as complete players. They become complete players once they have played.”
Dal ready for new season
Ahead of his first full season at Derbyshire, Anuj Dal is looking forward to a busy summer as the squad continue to prepare for the first game in April.
Dal impressed with his high-energy performances for the club last summer, top-scoring with 35 on debut against Worcestershire Rapids in July.
The 22 year-old also hailed the impact of Head of Cricket David Houghton and the new coaching set up at Derbyshire.
