With the 2019 season finished, we take a look back at some of the defining moments across all three formats for Derbyshire.
Billy Godleman’s side got off to the perfect start as they secured a comprehensive 125-run win over Durham at The Pattonair County Ground in the opening game of the season.
Despite losing Luis Reece (0) and Wayne Madsen (0) in the first over of the match, Harvey Hosein (78) struck a crucial half-century to help the hosts post a total of 197 in the first innings.
Reece then starred with the ball, claiming 5-47 as Durham were dismissed for 171, while Ravi Rampaul’s 3-47 would be a sign of things to come from the pair, who went on to claim 96 Specsavers County Championship wickets between them in 2019.
Tom Lace (61) and Matt Critchley (51) scored half-centuries alongside Hosein, who managed 62, before Logan van Beek (2-43), Rampaul (2-43) and Critchley (3-54) all made their mark to earn a big opening-victory for Derbyshire.
