With 2020 fixtures set to be released at the end of November, we take a quick look at the cricket calendar in 2020.
Specsavers County Championship
Four day cricket will take place in every month of the domestic calendar in 2020, with traditional red ball action being played from April through to September.
Australia fast bowler, Sean Abbott, will feature in up to ten County Championship matches for Derbyshire, after joining for the first half of the 2020 season.
Vitality Blast
The Vitality Blast comes earlier in 2020, with big fixtures on prime dates from the end of May through to July. After record crowds watched Derbyshire last summer, including back-to-back home sell-outs, tickets are expected to be in high demand, with the local derbies against Yorkshire Vikings and Notts Outlaws set to attract capacity crowds.
Abbott will also be available for the entire Vitality Blast group stage, where he will lead the bowling attack alongside Ravi Rampaul, who was the competition’s leading wicket-taker in 2019 with 23 dismissals.
Joining Abbott will be fellow Australia international, Ben McDermott, with the wicketkeeper-batsman bolstering an exciting Falcons batting line-up.

Royal London One-Day Cup
The Royal London One-Day Cup will take place between July and August, as 50-over cricket returns to the height of the British summer.
Captain Billy Godleman struck three-consecutive centuries in the 2019 group stage, and he will be looking to lead the side to the latter stages next time around.
McDermott remains available for the competition and adds a further batting option to compliment the captain, as well as the likes of Alex Hughes, Matt Critchley and Harvey Hosein.
