After suffering a heavy defeat to Leicestershire live on Sky Sports, the Falcons produced a dominant display to beat Northants by nine wickets in their final Vitality Blast home game of 2019.
Alex Hughes (3-13) was the pick of the Derbyshire bowlers, while Ravi Rampaul and Fynn Hudson-Prentice also shared four wickets as the visitors were dismissed for 100.
The first of three-consecutive half-century partnerships between Billy Godleman (28 not out) and Wayne Madsen (51 not out) saw Derbyshire through to an impressive victory at The Pattonair County Ground.
