To celebrate the 150th year of Derbyshire County Cricket Club, we sit down with players, staff, legends and Members to find out just what the club means to them.
Tony Borrington spent more than 7,000 runs for Derbyshire between 1971 and 1980, and his association with the club has remained strong.
The former batsman believes that cricket is still a huge part of the summer for people within Derbyshire, and says the support for Derbyshire to succeed is as strong as ever.
“I think for the local community, cricket is a very important part of the sporting heritage that has been passed on through the generations,” said Borrington.
“It’s a very important part of people’s interests, their lives and, as we saw last year with the T20, the desire to see Derbyshire do well.”
