Derbyshire-born England international, Sarah Glenn, capped off a fine 2020 campaign by being named the 2020 NatWest PCA Women’s Player of the Year at the NatWest Cricket Awards.

The 21-year-old leg-spinner only made her England debut in December 2019, but has already become a key cog in Heather Knight’s team due to her good economy rates and the knack for taking big wickets.

Glenn, formerly of Derbyshire Women, earned her call up thanks to a string of fantastic performances for Loughborough Lightning, and she went on to claim eight wickets across three ODIs, at an average of just 11.62 and best figures of 4-18.

That form cemented her place in the squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia, where she claimed six wickets, including 3-15 against Pakistan, as England reached the semi-finals of the competition.

Even amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Glenn’s momentum did not waver, as the England team based themselves at The Incora™ County Ground for the entirety of  their summer schedule.

Throughout the Vitality IT20 series with the West Indies, she was the standout performer for England, taking seven wickets at 12.00, being named Player of the Series as the side won all five matches in convincing fashion.
