All-rounder, Anuj Dal, has agreed a new deal with Derbyshire, extending his stay at The Incora County Ground by an additional two years, until the end of the 2026 campaign.
Dal, 27, has become a key component of Derbyshire’s red ball side, claiming three five wicket hauls during the 2023 campaign, as well as his highest score, 141 not out, against Worcestershire in July.
In his sixth campaign with the Club, the all-rounder was named as vice-captain during the Metro Bank One-Day Cup campaign, where he registered his maiden List-A century against Somerset in August.
He has scored a total of 2,698 runs and claimed 79 dismissals in all formats since his Derbyshire debut in 2018, including six centuries to his name and best figures of 6-69.
Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, said: “Anuj is an extremely important player, and I’m delighted to extend his contract with Derbyshire. He’s constantly working to improve his game and it’s clear from his performances that he has what it takes to win us matches.
“A professional like Anuj is such a valuable asset to any team; he’s the kind of player who can produce at any moment and it’s crucial we keep those players at Derbyshire.
“He is a genuine all-rounder, his skills with bat and ball are invaluable and what he adds in the field is outstanding.”
Dal added: “I’m really pleased to have extended my stay at Derbyshire, Mickey, the coaching staff and my teammates have put faith in me and my role within the side, and I want to keep repaying that by contributing to results.
“The Club has also supported me in my work with the PCA and pursuing qualifications away from cricket, and I want to thank them for this.
“Mickey’s vision, and the way the squad is shaping up is extremely exciting for the years to come. I can’t wait to get back out there next season, as I feel success is just around the corner.”
