Derbyshire County Cricket Club conducted its first Members’ Forum via video link on Sunday, with over 70 Members attending.
The forum was due to take place at The Incora County Ground ahead of Day One of the County Championship season against Leicestershire.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the decision was made to continue with the date as planned, but switch to a Zoom Video Conference, with Members registering their interest and submitting questions in advance.
Led by Chief Executive, Ryan Duckett, and members of the Supervisory Board, attendees were provided with updates on Membership, the club’s ongoing measures to protect against the COVID-19 situation, 150th Anniversary events and ground development plans.
Chief Executive, Ryan Duckett, said: “It’s important we keep our Members updated with all club matters at this challenging time, but more than that we want to ensure we continue reaching out to supporters and keeping them in contact with cricket wherever possible.
“It was pleasing to see so many Members, many of whom have been unable to attend forums in the past, joining us for a productive morning’s discussion and we look forward to hosting a second forum in the same manner next month.
“On behalf of the Supervisory Board and everyone at Derbyshire County Cricket Club, I would like to thank you for your support and urge you to keep in contact with the club via the online initiatives we are running.”
The next Members’ Forum will take place on Thursday 21 May, 7.00pm – 8.00pm via Zoom. Members will receive an email with a link to register their interest and submit questions. Please ensure you complete the online registration form, or you will not receive a link to join the forum.
